Meadowlands Covid-19 Response
At the Meadowlands Hotel, we aim to provide a safe environment for our guests and a safe working environment for our staff while maintaining our renowned friendly Irish hospitality. When you wish to travel again and stay or dine with us, we will be prepared to safely and caringly welcome you back.
Our Meadowlands Covid-19 Team has organised Health & Safety procedures which have been developed in line with HSE, government, and Irish Hotel Federation guidelines. These detailed procedures focus on health and hygiene in all aspects of hotel and restaurant operations. You will have peace of mind at the Meadowlands Hotel as we all get used to the new norms.
Before Arrival:
- Guests will be issued with pre-arrival emails with a link to new procedures
- Guests staying at the hotel must be travelling for essential reasons only, we are not permitted to accommodate leisure guests at this time. Guests MUST book single rooms unless from the same household.
- Please see the protocols for guests arriving into Ireland- www.gov.ie/en/campaigns/75d92-covid-19-travel-advice. If you are arriving from outside of Ireland, please contact the hotel in advance and we are happy to assist with isolation and quarantine.
- Please note that it is policy to wear face masks in all common areas of the hotel at all times. Face masks can be taken off once you are seated at your table in the bar and restaurant.
Check-in & Check-Out Procedures:
- Guests will be asked to sign a registration card that they do not have any COVID related symptoms or have travelled outside of Ireland in the previous 14 days
- Visible markings will guide you safely in the hotel reception, and our colleagues will observe social distancing whilst checking you in and out
- Contactless payment options and e-mail receipts will be encouraged. Where this is not possible, payment terminals will be disinfected before and after each transaction
- Key Cards will be disinfected with a medical-grade antimicrobial agent after each stay, a box will be available at reception to place key cards
- Pens will be provided on arrival to sign guest registration cards and disinfected and held for 72 hours before use again
- Hand sanitizing stations at the entrance door, reception area and reception desk.
- A check-out box is available at reception to place cards to be disinfected and held 72 hours before using again.
Enhanced Cleaning Procedures:
- Vigorous and frequent cleaning and sanitising of all surfaces and touchpoints is being carried out throughout our hotel
- Furniture has been rearranged in lobbies and communal areas in such a way to allow you to enjoy our facilities with proper social distancing
- Hand sanitising stations are available throughout the hotel at every necessary location
- Signage will remain in place throughout our public areas to remind our guests to observe social distancing and handwashing
- Doorways will be left open where possible to reduce contact, and elevator usage will be monitored to limit capacity and ensure priority access for those in need
Guest Rooms:
- A thorough and comprehensive cleaning and sanitising program is in place for all guest bedrooms and bathrooms in preparation for your arrival with specific extra attention being given to all touchpoints throughout.
- All additional furnishings and non-essential items will be removed from our bedrooms so we can focus on the highest levels of cleanliness.
- Linens will be handled with extreme care to prevent raising dust and potential contamination. Used linen will be washed at a minimum of 70°C for at least 25 mins to kill potential bacteria.
- Newspapers, magazines and guide books will be removed from guestrooms.
- Guest directories will be replaced with digital versions sent in pre-arrival emails.
- Guest information will be shown on your TV and when you log into our WiFi.
- Your room will not be serviced during your stay unless you request otherwise.
- Bed linen will not be changed during your stay unless requested the evening before you require linen changed.
- Hotel lifts can only be used by one person or family unit at one time.
Restaurant Dining:
- During level 5 restrictions, we are only permitted to cater to residents for table service.
- All guests will now have the option of in-room and takeaway, in addition to table service.
- Reservations for dining can be done in advance or through reception during your stay.
- Restaurant menus will be disposable or placed on laminated cards which will be disinfected after every use
- A reduced number of tables will be placed to ensure social distancing
- A one-way system will be operated in An Móinéar restaurant with entry through the main door and wait to be seated and exit through the side door
- Tableware including all used and unused wares will be removed and disinfected after each party has left. Tabletops and chair arms will also be disinfected after each seating
Bar Dining & Drinks:
- During level 5 restrictions, we are only permitted to cater to residents for table service.
- Reservations can be made in advance for bar bookings
- Table bookings are for a maximum of 105 minutes and drinks are only allowed to be served with the purchase of a substantial meal. Drinks outside of this time cannot be served at this time.
- Guests may avail of our resident’s lounge before and after dining
- A one-way system is currently in place with entry from the reception/lounge side of the bar and exit from the front bar door. Guests must wait to be seated.
- Bar menus are disposed of after every use
- A reduced number of tables will be placed to ensure social distancing
- Tableware including all used and unused wares will be removed and disinfected after each party has left. Tabletops and chair arms will also be disinfected after each seating
Conference & Meeting Procedures:
- New guidelines have been prepared with the recommended table setups for each meeting room in line with social distancing guidelines
- It is the responsibility of the facilitator on the day to ensure social distancing in meeting rooms
- All shared equipment and meeting room amenities will be disinfected after every use.
- Table cloths will be removed and washed at a high temperature after every use.
- Facilitators & Participants to enter in the main reception area and leave through the conference doors of the hotel
- Facilitators to check in with reception
- Refreshments and dining times must be booked in advance and strictly adhered to
- Refreshments will be served by a member of our conference team
Staff:
- The staff have completed all training and have obtained the Safe Destination Badge
- An enhanced training program for all employees will run continuously, to ensure the utmost levels of safety and security throughout all areas of our operations
- Any local health guidelines around the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment will be strictly adhered to by our teams across all departments from guest services to back-of-house and kitchens
- Hand sanitisation will be carried out at least once every 15minutes
- A vigorous handwashing program is in place with all employees required to thoroughly wash their hands every 60 minutes
